Butyrate is an organic acid (short-chain fatty acid) that is produced in the intestine by the action of the microbiota, and can also be provided by the diet as it is found naturally in foods such as butter and dairy fats.

It has been extensively studied and documented that butyrate acts as a nutrient (‘food’) for the cells in our gut.

KeyBiological has developed an innovative formula to add butyrate to our diet in a simple way, without animal components, lactose or other allergens.
