Intelligent laboratory of biocidal products from recycled oils for the prevention of COVID-19

KEYBIOLOGICAL participates in the DAVID project funded by the AXENCIA GALEGA DE INNOVACIÓN and the FEDER fund of the European Union as part of the EU response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DAVID project, Intelligent laboratory for biocidal products from recycled oils for the prevention of COVID-19 (IN852E 2021/2) focuses on the formulation of surface and skin cleaners with biocidal activity to protect against the spread and contagion of the Covid-19 disease.

Recycled ingredients from used food oils will be used, filtered and ozonised in an intelligent laboratory for the formulation of the biocidal gel.

The specific objectives of the project are as follows:

Biocidal products for surface cleaning and skin use.
Modular filtering system for used food oil.
Modular, mobile, self-sustainable, intelligent laboratory.
Monitoring solution for the improvement and control of the vegetable oil production process and laboratory.

Main advances made during MILESTONE 1 (August 2021-December 2021): during the first 5 months of execution, progress has been made in the first activity where the analysis of technical and functional requirements of used food oil and its valorization, the filtering system for obtaining high purity oil, as well as the modular laboratory and its monitoring by means of sensors and the use of digital tools have been carried out.

Aid granted KEYBIOLOGICAL: 112,101.75 €.
